Sony has a firmware update for the PS Vita planned for February 8th, just a couple of weeks before the system’s Western launch. This is most likely the firmware that will be shipping on the launch models in North America and Europe regions on February 22th.
The v1.6 firmware will improve the camera functions to add 'video recording', and finally the GPS will have a 'map app'.
The map app will allow you to ask for directions and see where you are in the world using the system’s GPS sensor.
Minor changes also include changing the Home button so it glows blue when your system is plugged into an outlet, and the online network name change from PSN to SEN.
