Temporary Workaround For iPhone 6s Battery Status Bug

Aside from new 3D Touch shortcuts, more Siri languages, better Apple Pay – Wallet interaction, and the adoption of a cool Night Shift mode for smart screen color adjustment in low-light conditions, iOS 9.3 should bring a fair share of your typical bug patches to the table as soon as it’s ready to move out of beta.

Of course, the ninth major version of Cupertino’s acclaimed operating system is far from unstable, especially after its .2 December maintenance update, but at least one vexing glitch will need to be thoroughly repaired before long.

For the time being, you can dodge it by restarting your iPhone, and ensuring your date and time are set to change automatically. That’s quite an odd workaround for an issue pertaining to battery life, or rather the erroneous displaying of energy consumption and juice left in the tank.

As acknowledged on Apple’s support website, changing the time on an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus manually or even undergoing an automatic adjustment while traveling can break the little battery percentage icon, which might get stuck at a certain misleading value as your cell is slowly depleted of power.

“Apple is aware of this issue and is investigating the cause and a solution.” concludes the official announcement, so most likely, the public, fully polished iOS 9.3 build will contain said universal “solution.”

iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak Achieved

Luca Todesco  has tweeted that he has managed to achieve an iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak on an iPhone 6 running on  iOS 9.2.1. However, the tweet is accompanied by Todesco’s not so reassuring promise that the jailbreak will not be released, at least for now.

However that does not mean that a working iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak will not be released as other teams are also known to be working independently on similar solutions and it’s not yet known if they are all using the same exploits as Todesco.

It is also possible that Luca Todesco could change his mind and release the jailbreak or pass along the information to another team that would be prepared to release it to the rest of us.
