Latest Diablo 3 Patch Affecting PS4 And Xbox One Performance

Blizzard has released Patch 2.4.0 for Diablo 3 which many had dubbed as a mini expansion of sorts. In fact what made it even better was the fact that it was released on consoles at the same time as the PC, meaning all Diablo 3 gamers would get to experience the new content at the same time.

According to some posts on the Diablo 3 forum, it seems that Patch 2.4.0 has impacted the experience of the game on consoles in a negative way. According to the thread starter, “As soon as I downloaded the patch I went into a t10 rift and my goodness it’s lagging so bad. When there’s density it’s terrible it’s even creating button lag. I only play single player because of all the paragon 10,000 randoms.”

The thread starter seemed to indicate that this might be a PS4 issue, but then other forum goers chimed in and claimed that they were experiencing similar issues on the Xbox One as well. However it does not seem to be a widespread issue as there aren’t too many pages on the problem, at least not yet, so if you don’t experience any of the problems while on your console, you should be good.

Kauza, a Diablo 3 community member has responded but according to the post, it seems that Blizzard has been unable to replicate the problem on their end. “We’ve been unable to reproduce this internally so far, so let’s see if we can find a pattern and identify what’s going on.” This means that until Blizzard can figure it out, affected gamers will just have to wait or figure out a workaround until an official solution can be found.

Hitman’s PlayStation 4 Pre-Orders Pulled

Last year a new Hitman game was announced and it is expected to be released later this year. Apparently there are some last minute changes that they had to make which has caused the pre-orders for the PS4 to be pulled.

According to a message found on PSN, "Thank you for pre-ordering Hitman. The publisher has notified us that the configuration of the product you pre-ordered has changed significantly. As a result, we have withdrawn the current pre-order from PlayStation Store and will cancel all pre-orders. You will receive email confirmation when your pre-order has been cancelled. A revised pre-order for Hitman will be available on the store soon."

Now understandably gamers are probably worried about the game now. The message wasn't particularly clear as to why the pre-orders were pulled, which we can only imagine will lead to speculation that the game might have been delayed. If those are your concerns as well, you can rest easy.

According to the official Hitman Twitter account, it reads, "If your Hitman pre-order is cancelled, don't panic. Release date is still March 11. We're adjusting a few things & will update in a few days." The game was originally slated to be launched at the end of 2015, but it was delayed to March 2016.

Resistance: Burning Skies launch trailer

Resistance: Burning Skies  is now available in the US (both retail and PSN), and will be launching in Europe this Friday, June 1st.

Read the official PS Blog post below:

The wait is over! Resistance: Burning Skies hits store shelves and PSN today, ushering in a new era of portable first-person shooters. Dual-analog control isn’t the only thing going for Resistance: Burning Skies though. In addition to the multiplayer features and weapon functionality we’ve introduced over the last few months, Resistance: Burning Skies brings a new hero into the war between man and the Chimera – and Tom Riley’s story is one you won’t want to miss. Take a peek at the debut of our Resistance: Burning Skies launch trailer!

This isn’t all we have to share with you today though. You’ll remember back in April when we talked about Resistance: Burning Skies’ multiplayer modes we mentioned that through “near,” Resistance: Burning Skies introduces a new social perk which rewards players with XP multipliers that you can carry into multiplayer battle. Today we’re going to shed a little more light on exactly what that means.

So, as you play through the multiplayer experience in Resistance: Burning Skies, there’s a chance that you will become “infected” with a form of the Chimera virus. Although being infected with the Chimera virus didn’t end too well for Nathan Hale, these particular strains of the Chimera virus actually give you a bonus to your in-game XP multiplier. That means that you can have double and in some cases up to triple XP for a limited amount of time to gain levels and to unlock upgrades more quickly.
